Attorneys are independent, licensed in your state, and work under their own engagement terms with you. KindSplit is not a law firm and does not direct their legal judgment. If your case needs full representation in court, your lawyer will explain the options and costs up front.

Is this the same as hiring a lawyer?
It is limited-scope help: advice and review from a licensed lawyer each month, rather than a firm representing you in everything. Many people find it gives them the protection they need at a fraction of the cost. If you need full representation, your lawyer can discuss it with you.
Can the lawyer talk to my spouse's lawyer?
That depends on the scope you agree with your lawyer. Many will, often for a set number of hours.
Is it available in my state?
We match you with a lawyer licensed in your state. If we cannot match you within a few business days, we will tell you and you will not be charged for attorney time.
Can I switch paths later?
Yes. Your case file, documents and conversations come with you. Many people start self-guided and add a specialist or lawyer when they need one.
Are court fees included?
No. Filing fees are paid to your court and usually run from about $80 to $450 depending on the state and county. Every state offers a fee waiver if you cannot afford them.
